: kinda out of my field here as far as collared lizards go ... but agree with xta that the 1st thing would be to get some blood work done and find out for sure how it's blood calcium level is doing ~ too much calcium can be as bad as too little!!!
: if your liz is just coming out of a long period of being physically idle, i would think that could account for muscle twitches, especially *large* muscles like thighs ... i *have* seen my ig go thru this ~ he was *Very* sick at one point in his life + had totally lost use of his back legs ~ as his strength slowly returned, those muscles did *alot* of twitching! maybe nerve endings checking out their connections???? (totally theorizing here!)
: and *yes* it is possible that muscle twitching is a sign that the calcium intake is too low ~ again, a blood test will take the guessing out of the situation ...
: comment on calcium supplements ... *TUMS EX*!!!! i am extremely wary of supplements "made specifically for reptiles" ... (what's REALLY in the stuff?!?!?) ... with TUMS 1/4 tab a day is probably Plenty of calcium for a 10# lizard ~ (that's what iZ gets) ...
: best wishes! sorry we're not able to help more ...
: Bon.
