Since it sounds like you've "decided" that you want one make absolutely sure that you know what it is that you are getting into with an iguana. Commitment level is very high with igs due to the amount of time AND money that really must be invested if you want to care for your ig properly.
Therefor, in the long run it really isn't a question of what size is best because if you care for it properly it will eventually grow to about 6'...Give or take... Still ready for one ? How about dedicating an entire room to it for living space ? Or at the very least building an enclosure the size of a full hutch ? Daily feedings ? Higher fuel and/or electric bills ? If it's male how about the potential for agression during mating season ? Female - gravidity (eggs)...
Bottom line is now that you've "decided" that you want an iguana just make sure that you do all of the necessary research BEFORE you go out and get one... Once you have one it's quite possibly too late to turn back....And seriously consider adopting one instead of buying one from the pet shop. Once you start researching and gathering information you'll realize why I suggest this.....
Good Luck
