While it's all fine, well and good to do things to increase the humidty inside an enclosure, if the relative humidity in the actual room is low, you'll never ben able to maintain good humidity in the enclosure. In other words, you humidify the air inside the enclosure and it will all seep out into the room. To combat this problem, we run a large (whole house) humidifier in the dining room which boosts the humidity in there and all the rooms surrounding it. Then we do all the humidity boosting tricks to keep the enclosures well humdified. It works like a charm.
