Followup: "Rex the iguana"- what caused the fire ?

I just got off the phone with Richard Keeling in England as I was curious to find out exactly what caused the fire to start in Rex's enclosure. Turns out that Rex pulled some paper in on top of his CHE which, in turn, started a smouldering fire. Those of you new to iguanas, and herps in general,using CHE's PLEASE BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL as far as placement and securing the fixture. If a CHE gets hot enough to burn paper think of what it would do to your animal... Those of you concerned and looking for alternatives there are some great radiant heat panels on the market right now that don't get nearly as hot and appear to be just as efficient. I've been running the one in Mel's enclosure even without the doors on it since she decided to move in a week ago. I have to turn the heat in the house down and I'm walking around in shorts....LOL
