Hi Amanda, yu pit definatlly does take time and patience.

What you can do is try and feeding the ig with your hand, some collards to get the little guy to come over to you, you can talk quietly, and if your afraid of getting bitten then try some gloves and put a long sleeve shirt on. I have cut the bottoms out of a pair of socks and put those on my arms so I wouldn't get scratched. And as soon as you and the iguana feel a bit more safer you can then over a little time remove the gloves and let the iguana get to lick your hand a bit to get your sent. But just take your time, and you could end up with a great buddy.
