Iguana Joe covered some important points, but also, if you decide you really truly want an iguana (and they ARE a major commitment), please adopt one. There are small and big alike that are in need of good homes from the countless people who didn't research before they bought one-- then decided they were too much work! Many on this forum rescue such animals on a regular basis. They are always looking for good homes for their adoptees, but they want to place the iguana in a good home where it will stay! Good luck in your research.
