In Reply to: I finally found escarole, chickory, dandelion greens.... posted by Sarah on March 03, 2001 at 19:04:10:
Freezing them is o.k. but they will get mushy. My ig. hates mushy greens but I've read here at the forum that some igs will eat them. I just don't know for how long you can freeze them without them loosing their nutricional value. I think I read about 2 weeks. Hope this helps. L~
: After a llloooonnngggg search, I finally found proper iguana food. I found chickory, dandelion greens, escarole, and swiss chard, but no one has mustard green or collard greens. These ARE all good for iguanas right? like on a daily basis? if there are any that shouldn't be offered on a regular basis, please tell me (besides the varied diet thing).
: Also, I wanted to know, what is the best way to keep the greens fresh? I can only get large bundles, and Philbert doesn't eat that much, and I'm sure it will go bad before he gets to the end of it. it freezing it ok? The place I found that carries it is very far away (there are absolutely none that will carry it around here) and I can't go there often. Any suggestions are welcome.
: Thanx
