I would suggest that you cover at least 3 sides of the tank at least. Provide plenty of plastic vines/leaves for them to feel like they have some cover to hide by.
Anything less than a 55 gallon tank will be too small in 6 months time. You should be preparing to build 1 or 2 very large cages. There's no promises that these two iguanas will continue to like each other when they start growing and may have to be caged in separate cages. This is where plenty of pre-research comes into play, knowing the risk BEFORE purchasing iguanas so there's no surprises or let downs later on.
These reptiles are far from being "easy" pets. If you expected easy......stick to owning a dog or cat. From a rating of 1 to 10, with 10 being the hardest to care for...I'd rate an iguana at a strong 8 !! They take up a ton of space, they require fresh foods multi-times a day, require special temperatures and humidity levels, UVB lighting and then, if you're lucky....your iguana won't throw you a curve ball and come down with some weird illness that will cost you big $$ in Vet bills.
