I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this might be how your iguana is going to stay. This is assuming you have had him checked out by a vet (fecal done and blood work) to rule out any medical problems.
Our male, Harry is exetremely aggressive. Unfortunately, he spends 99% of his time in his enclosure because of this. We tried 2 different types of drugs on him, decreased his hours of light to almost total darkness and nada. The experts state that neutering has little effect on this type of behavior.
Sue1 and Dzlizard had a similar problem with a male iguana. What they did is adopt him to another couple. The funny thing is, once in his new home, he never behaved aggressively. HOWEVER, there is no guarentee that this would work on every male iguana and I personally, wouldn't want to take the chance of adopting out an aggressive animal only to have him injure the new owners.
We've learned to live with Harry and his evil ways. Welding gloves and towels come in handy when we do need to handle him. Good luck with your male.
