Whatever suits YOU! My adult igs food dishes are on the floor somedays its about the only excercise (aside from baths/shower swim time)they get..... climbing down off their basking logs to go and eat. Yer ig is a big boy now...BUT expect him to balk at his food for a few days, or you may want to place him in front of the food dish so he gets used to 'here it is'...IGS HATE CHANGE!! anything disrupts their routine and BAM off feed..you'll need to get him used to the way YOU want/need to feed him BEFORE you go it may take a few days....so best prepare now.
