I would not use visible light for heating at night. Iguanas, along with many other diurnal ( daytime activity ) lizards have the ability to see the full color spectrum, including some infrared. What you see is what your lizard sees, for the most part. So if you can imagine going to bed with a bright red light shining on you, you can get the idea. If you had to choose, I would say black. Ideally you would use a CHE.
