I have updated Double D's cage. I was feeing bad about his cage, its just temporary but still its improved for now. I have him in a big rubbermaid tote thats clear. I have turned two totes on top of each other then cut the bottom out of the top one for a top. I then screwed them together with screws on outside of cage. I drilled two holes into the side and attached a ribbion thru a tree limb to secure it for his climbing. I did have one of those igy hamacks (but he kept getting caught on it so I took it out. He also has another big branch on teh bottom for him to just lay on. Of course his food and water bowls. I attached Wire mesh to cover the shelving we are using for a top and placed both lamps on that. I will be building him a "house" that will have an area for him to get out of the lighting, and also have a ramp on the side that will lead him up to a platform approx. 15 or 17 inches off the ground where he will be able to bask closer to the light. The cage deminions now are 34 in length, 24 in. height, 13 in wide. Doulbe d measures 16 1/2 inches head to tail. Any ideas on the house??? I know this isnt the best cage but its better than what we started out with and better than the pet stores, I can't wait till we get the house to build him the great enclosure. I spent 4 hours on this today LOL (im not good with tools) and then cut up some grapes, finally found some butternut squash, cut that up, and cut up some apple and tore up his greens, HOPEFULLY he will eat this better. ALso bath question When you give your iggy's a bath when they are done do you put them immediatly back into there enclosure ? If so do you leave the basking light and uv light on??
