I've also taken my pets to the schools I teach at and become a petting zoo. It is such an exciting experience! A method that's worked great for me, as far as reliable (tame) pets go, is telling the children to stretch out their arm and show me their index and middle fingers only. Then I tell them that whoever wants to pet an animal must do it gently with these two fingers only. I hold the animal and pass it around for the children to pet; and I have control over the position the animal is in. (Animal's head turned away from the kid's hands). This way you ensure the safety of your animals and children while giving the kids a chance to use a hands on experience. I think it's a great way to teach kids to respect and admire the animal kingdom. Good luck and congratulations, Lisette
: to the school I am student teaching at... We are team teaching in this school and 3 of the other pairs of student teachers want to use her in their lessons. I said sure! They aren't going to take her out just show her off! She is then making a visit to the Kindergarten class! On Monday she is going with me along with one of my ferrets and my hamster! I am like a petting zoo!!
