I mnust say that besides Carla as our best investment, the UVHEAT bulb is aother great one. Being that, first of all, it has a warranty for a year. I spoke to a gentleman at UVHEAT directly, and found him to be quite friendly and informative. His wife is actually a veterinarian which furthered my trust in him. The reason I chose this bulb over the flourescent tubes is that I did not have to buy another fixture since I already had the ceramic domes. I live in a apartemnt in Philadelphia where my electricity is included in my rent, so I am not sure how much it costs to burn. I must say that reading the data on the UVB spectrum emitted from the bulb enlcosed with the bulb were very impressive. Point blank ,they just out last the tube bulbs. Carla loves the light and it keeps her environment a perfect temperature. The only accessory that I must suggest is a height extender that they also sell for $5 or so which increases the height by about 8 inches. This bulb is hot, so with this accessory I was able to give a better temperature range. Hope this helps. Any other questions, please feel free to email me or post here.
