If the nail was injured close to the finger, the nail matrix (root) may have been damaged and will prevent any further growth. In this case you will have a necrotic (dead) nail and regrowth will not occur. Do you know if it bled when it broke or did it happen before you got your iguana. A good thing is that you will have one less to trim. :) Have you bought an appropriate nail trimmer. If you never had trimmed the nails yourself, you must make sure that you do not hit the artery. It is very similar to that of a dog's. If you hit it while cutting, you must apply a tincture that will cause the blood flow to clot. Lots of luck.............
