Females may or may not lay eggs. SO far, Mel seems to be re-absorbing hers. If nothing further happens in a week or so we're going to bring her in for a look under the hood just to be safe...She's gained some of her appetite back and is slimming down again. We just want to be safe and make sure that that is what's happening.
If Lucy DOES lay eggs, unless she's been out carousing through the wilds of Maine with the rest of the rowdy iguanas that snowshoe around up there the eggs will be unfertilized and will not hatch. As Sue2 suggested, freezing them makes absolutely sure and also keeps them from acting like chicken eggs when they aren't refrigerated (PHEW!!)
Hope Lucy is doing well up there. I'm sure you're ALL looking forward to Spring. I know we are down here in sourthern New Hampster...;)
