You might get TOO many opinions! There are those that believe that FEMALES have a better temperament because their behavior is usually less obnoxious during their "season." We have both a male and a female. Therefore, I have experience with both. Except for the fact that his claws are like razors, our MALE is the sweetest of the two. Both are quite tame so don't get me wrong. However, he is more into cuddling than she is and doesn't get "in a mood" as often as she can. She is four and he is 3. I've read of males that start acting more agressive after age 4 so I don't know if we'll see a sudden change in Thunder in a year or so.

What I would stress most is not so much the sex of the iguana but how much time you put in to making him or her a part of your life. It will take handling daily and talking to him or her, etc. Pretty much how I would go about acclimating a puppy to the family.
