I hope you didn't think I was implying that you are a bad parent or anything ... I know many people who do have those concerns. You still might want to try smaller portions if she is only eating every other day. That way, in the event her appetite perks up, she still has access to food. If not, then there is only a small portion that has gone to waste.
Before winter hit, Mel was chowing down several helpings a day of food -winter (and gravidness) hit and now I throw away more food than she eats. I always offer food, I just offer smaller portions than usual. If she eats I give her more, if not then I don't.
