Hi Joseph.
I see your having some unplesent experiences with reps.. Well I'm sure it has happened to many out there, and also again I'm sure many have also walked away from them.
But as for the iguana, when you hold him if really needed wear some gloves until he tames down a bit, that way you have more control over him. See the thing is that if you put him down when he throws a fit, then he realizes "Hey when I get mad, and bite he will put me down" So then they get into the routine of this, they are smart little guys.
So I just advise to keep trying, reptiles can be great pets. So if needed just throw on a pair of gloves, long shirt. I have even cut the bottoms out of socks and put them over my arms.
I haven't yet been bitten my my Iguana, but by snakes yes. My iguana just likes to scratch me, dosen't bite.

So keep up the hopes and a little more time and I'm sure everything will work out. And if not make sure if you do give your Ig up, make sure that the person has really read up on there material.

Good luck
Just more patience and time and you'll have a good buddy faster than you think

Corey
