If you grow your own Ig food.....

For the last several years I have also. I found beans/peas(whole plant) did very well, mustard, romaines, squashes, and parsnips.
I have to mention I live in the north.
What things do you find not only your Ig likes you grow, but what works really well, and aprox when do you plant them?
I plant romaines/other leaves in early march.
Beans in May.
I also rape my hibiscus twice a year for some real tropical food for him and it comes back bushier every time!
