I would hesitate too. Now, if you place the dome fixture inside the reptarium, how do you keep the reptile from getting burned? Maybe place some kind of screen around it, but screen can get awfully hot too. I'll have to think about that one. Any suggestions? It sounds great for iguanas. L.
: You need the dome light fixture with a CERAMIC socket. You screw the CHE into the socket and place the dome fixture on top of your screen. I would think your screen has to be metal material (all of ours are made of metal).
: We have one of the nylon reptariums that we use to sun our collared lizards in (outside). I'm not sure if you can place one of these dome fixtures on top of it. I would hesitate to do that. Maybe contact the manufacturer? I've seen ads for the reptariums that show the dome fixtures inside the enclosure.
