::: If you decide to take him outside this summer, be prepared for a possible wild iguana after being exposed to direct sunlight. I have seen this in a number of iguanas.
Wow, thanks, H.D. for the info. I'm very vigilent about real making sure they get real sunlight at times; I took Habib outside daily last summer for at least an hour at a time.
She has an outdoor cage, which she loved to go into because she knew what it meant! When she wanted to go outside, we'd come in her room and see that she had climbed on top of her outdoor cage, as if signaling to us "Okay, mom and dad, I'm all ready to go outside now!" So we'd carry her out and let her bask. So, I'm already a big believer in taking them outdoors when the weather is nice.
As far as real sunlight making them become wildish, I never noticed that sort of thing at all with Habib, but I will *sure* watch out for it with this new male.
Thanks again for your post, which will be so helpful this summer,
Diana
