Travis,
The very day I first found the Petco Iguana in bad conditions, I came home and read here on the forum about about how Lexi had lost her beloved iguana, Wasabi. She was so sad about his death that I wrote to her and offered to give her the Petco Iguana if I could indeed get the store manager to give him up to me.
Lexi wrote back and said that she wasn't quite ready for another iguana in her life at that time, and I can't blame her at all for feeling that way. I also understand that with the loss of Speedy, you may not be ready just yet to have another ig. However, as much as I already *love* this new little guy I got today, I would like to let you know that if you want him, and if it would help you get over your grief, I'm sure we could work out a way that you could have him.
Just the fact that you had Speedy for 17 years is a testiment to me that you are indeed a worthy owner, and would give this guy a great home.
Sure, I'm already somewhat attatched to him, but I keep trying to tell myself not to get too attatched. I need to remain subjective about his home environment, and place him where he will truly be best off.
Let me know if you want to talk about it~ If not, I understand, and I will certainly love this little guy to death. I just thought I'd extend this invitation to you to consider. Losing a beloved pet is hard, and seems to be easier when you have something else to love.
I am truly sorry for your loss--especially now, when I feel so blessed to have two iguanas. I'd happily share with you if you feel it's what you need.
My prayers are with you,
Diana
