Well - here is the update on Zoe. We picked her up on 2/11 for anyone that missed it.
So far her eating has been GREAT! We have been giving her 2 large bowls a day (Collards, mustard greens, spinach, parsnip, green beans, butternut squash, carrots, escarole, dandelion leaves) - can you over feed an ig?
She has been in Betadine baths every night since Monday.
Last night she went without a fight - and after wards we were able to aid in her peeling a bit...
I have been putting A-B ointment on her black skin - and believe it or not... I see a speck or two of green scales under it. Thats a good sign I think.
So far, she pooped in the tub on Tuesday night. On Wednesday morning I found poop in her cat litter box that is filled with water on the bottom of her enclosure... and Wednesday night she pooped in the tub again. Hmm... for an ig that lived in a rabbit cage for 5/6 years w/ no water & never having come out of the cage, she is training well.
We take steps forward & then steps backwards... like one night I can pet her head w/ no dewlap -the next day she will puff at me if I come near her. I guess in time she will come to realize that I am a good egg. hee hee
Maybe Stone can learn a thing or 2 from her.... like pooping in water & not on the basking shelf! lol
Zoe has been sleeping well at night - I think it's due to the CHE. I recommend these over night light now... when I used to think night light was fine... I have since realized, I was wrong.
So... this weekend I think I am going to leave her enclosure door open awhile to see if she wants to come out & investigate on her own.
Dont worry - we have ig proofed everything. :)
Well, thats all for now...
