I know that in dogs, if you cut them every week or so when they are over grown, the "quick" will grow back a bit so you can trim them shorter. Does it work this way in igs too?
yes!!! tho sounds like it may take a *long* time to get Zoe's shortened up! (poor thing!) ... iZ has a nice rough-barked tree limb to climb on and something like that will also help wear the claws down a bit too ...
iZ is pretty good about letting me trim his claws but i usually am only allowed to do 2 sets per nite ... so we do hands one nite and feets the next and we're both fairly happy ... i've been doing his prob'ly once a week lately ~ he's big enough that he doesn't just leave *little* scratches ... i use regular people nail clippers with good results + then use an emory board to smooth any rough, sharp spots left over (sometimes that's the *next* nite's goal tho) ... with a larger ig, might wanna try the kind of clippers they have for dogs (also "round" claws) ... haven't tried that with iZ yet but have heard good things about that technique ...
good luck!
Bon.
