Iguanas In The Wild

Hi everyone I live here in Miami,Florida where the climate is favorable for tropical fauna to thrive. For the Iguana lover I recomend that before you die you should check out what a wild iguana looks like. You have'nt seen a real Common Iguana until you've seen one that has been running wild all its life. The colors of these Iguanas are so vivid. The greens seem to glow like kryptonite and the some males are bright orange to a rust red. You can tell the difference bettween a captive and a wild Iguana, not just in the colors, but in the eyes. They seem to have a pierceing look to them. Unlike a captive that thier eyes seem to be dialated when compared. Thier attitude and behavior is unique to the Green Iguana, thier heads bobing and the stride of thier walk. I sometimes sit and just watch them for hours while they sun themselves on a warm rock or branch overseeing the body of water they live near. If they are aproached they will imediately dive in the water. Sometimes they will swim across to the oposite bank or they might stay submerged for several minutes. Also I've never seen an Iggy with spikes like that of a wild specimen. Their spikes are un broken, upright, standing tall, and full of life. On a hot day it could be said that these Iguanas are electrified like they've been shot up with Nytro. Running, jumping, swimming, climbing, breeding, and every other thing an Iggy does. They seem to form breeding colonies when females in the later months of the year begin to look for sand dunes where to burrow and lay eggs. At the bottom of the dunes you can observe one tunnel after another. I love my Iguanas but they will never look like a wild one. I think I'm fortunate that I've seen Iguanas in the wild,it gives me greater insight on my pets and my eyes have seen delight in Gods beautiful handy work. Good luck with your pets guys!
Manny H.
