For me, when they start making my arms hurt I cut the tip. Usually around every 2 weeks for me or a little sooner. Not sure about a full grown one as mine is only
a few inches over 3 feet.

: Hi - When I got Zoe on Sunday, I cut the sharp tips of her nails. Her previous owner had her for 5 - 6 years & never cut them. They are so long that they bend around & her toes are permanently curled to the side deformed...
: My ? is - how often can I cut them? I am hoping (like I had to do w/ my dog) that if I can cut them often, then eventually I will be able to cut them back a little at a time to make the length of the remaining nail the proper size for her.
: I know that in dogs, if you cut them every week or so when they are over grown, the "quick" will grow back a bit so you can trim them shorter. Does it work this way in igs too?
: Please advise......
: THANKS :)
