This is only my opinion, but I don't think your iguana can catch our illnesses. If it was something that has happened, it would of been reported in the medical book we have. I haven't read anything linking our illnesses to reptiles. The only thing I have found the relates to both is Salmonella and of course we all know that warning. I don't think our body's (humans vs reptiles) are close enough to harbor the same diseases less Salmonella.
