that I absolutely, positively adore our vet!! Next to my beloved husband, Dr. George is my favorite man!
darn it I lost the post and so this is my second attempt so I forgot all the things I wanted to mention ...lol
Anyway -he never performs proceedures or tests without discussing cost first, doesn't yell at me when I call him at 11:30 on a Saturday night (long story I won't bore you with) when we have a swollen iggy, comforts us in times of stress and loves our iggys and they love him. I remember the first time we brought Mel to him, she had never been to a vet before and was rather freaked out -whipping, lashing out, jumping, she even cut her eye trying to get away from him -anyway, they left the room together for xrays and he brings her back in and the 2 of them are as lovey dovey as can be. I also like the fact that Dr. George will tell you when he can't fix something or doesn't have an answer. It took us awhile to find him and now I wouldn't trade him for the world!
I know how lucky we are to have found him. I must have called 30 vets looking for someone in our area to treat our igs when we moved here and I got a lot of "we don't usually see exotics but we can try", etc. As my husband said, we have also been exposed to bad vet care. I wish I had known about ARAV (Association of Reptile and Amphibian Veterinarians) a long time ago -even though that is not how we found Dr. George he is a member and that would have helped us make a more informed decision when looking for a vet.
