I think this is pretty normal. I'm not an expert, but Lizzy never shed while she was gravid. I guess it may be because while the eggs are taking up space, she quits eating as well. The eggs take up the space that before held stomach and food! If my memory is clear, Lizzy didn't grow, lengthwise during that time.
