As the Webmstress of several sites, I am appauled at your lack of Net Etiquette. I am even more appauled by the fact that you are using the message boards as a way to increas hits to your site thereby boosintg your ranking on the Top Sites list**(see below for explanation on Top Sites)! It's one thing if you are passing out your site info to help someone but this is a blatent attempt to get people to go to your site to increase hits. I would not have thought this if you had posted to one forum, but you have posted this message to more than 3 forums.

And before anyone thinks I am getting carried away here, please read what I have to say .... those of us who have created websites have not only spent many hours creating the actual sites but many many hours and in some cases years, researching our information. When someone else comes along and decides to make their own website and yet base it on ours that is called pirating. Although it may seem like a small infraction to people who have never created a website or those who do it only as a hobby -there is an unspoken rule among webmasters/webmistresses that this sort of thing is just not done. If you are going to use content that someone else has created, it is expected that you fully credit the source -the site I am speaking of, in particular, has not done this at all and has pirated from roughly 5 or 6 sites that I know of (most of them are sites that I am familiar with or friendly with the owner of the site). Furthermore, there are copyright protected pictures on this site and other than marking them with the copyright, no credit is given to the people who own them and no sources are cited. A general FYI -any material protected by copyright (and everything published to the web is automatically granted this) cannot be republished without the express written consent of the owner -the only exception to this rule is if you credit the owner and the source, just like a bibliography you had to write with every report you handed in when you were in school.

Taking someone else's content and changing a few words here and there does not make it your own original content. Furthermore, I personaly have noticed that when new pages go up on the handful of sites I have referred to, the same type pages go up on your site within a matter of days, sometimes a matter of hours. That is pirating and if you did it in a school report you would get busted for not citing your sources.

So Lesya, you asked for input and I am giving it to you. The chuckle of it is, I would probably have never known if: A) you didn't post on all these forums looking for hits, B) we didn't belong to the same Reptile Top Sites and BTW **a ranking in the Top Sites is only based on the number of hits a site receives, not the quality or the accuracy of the information, it is done for fun more than anything else and C) you didn't constantly seek approval from people on the forums. Additionally, I've noticed when others come back to you with feedback (which you have asked for) and you don't like that feedback, you get defensive. I know for a fact that several times people have come to you and expressed concern over the accuracy of the information you provide and instead of researching it to make sure you are providing accurate info, you complain about that person.

One other personal note Lesya, you have had your iguana, and Tarzan is your first I believe, for less than a year. I find it hard to believe that you didn't need any resources to gather all the care information on your site and that you have been an expert from day one. You had to have gotten all your information from somewhere and I know that you have gained much of it from other people's websites and the several message boards you participate in. (I have much more experience than you and I still credit every source I use because I learned that infomation from someone else!) Therefore, it is not original content and again I remind you that changing a word here and there does not make it orignal -it doesn't matter how bad you butcher it, it's still someone else's work. So, while you think you are not breaking any copyright laws, I am telling you that what you are doing is unethical and wrong and I will not sit here and let you troll for hits.

This is nothing personal against you Lesya, I think you're a good kid but I can't in all good faith sit here and watch you troll for hits all the while knowing that the content on your site is not completely original and that your resources have not been properly documented. Sorry, but you asked for input and I have given it to you.
