I do not have a problem with vets . I have a problem with you coming here and
saying you know know then us because your a vet in training . As for vets care
information call 10 vets and ask what you should feed your iguana then tell me
again how much they know . As for the rest if the vets have such a vast amount of
knowledge ( because they know so much more then us ( me anyway) they WHY are
you asking these questions here ? Ask you teacher ? Maybe read all those books
on iguanas in your school . The fact is that it has only been in the last 5 to 10 years
that the veterinary profession has even taken notice of herps as a " PET " for the most
part the majority of vest are cat and dog people . To find a HERP vet is rare These
are the vets I love I know many and am friends with a few . Even they will tell you
that most of their piers are not very knowledgeable in the day to day care of a herp
especially iguanas . I am not saying vets are bad I love them . The fact remains that
most people have dogs and cats so that is where the majority of training is . very
few vets take the extra steps to learn the extra things that need to be known to
care for herps unless they either like herps themselves or there is a high demand for
herp care in the place they are going to be working . So please don't think I have
anything against a vet any vet I simply point out that only a small percent of them
are well trained in herpetology . I am very thankfull to all the vets who have helped me over the many years . Just ask anybody here how many times I have said those famous words " GO TO THE VET " ..
