: Well then Heather,
: If you had simply stated that you were looking for a specific "subtype" with these characteristics it would have been much easier for people to give you an accurate answer instead of the generalizations that you made. I thought you were trying to take a survey to be honest.
: As far as your "status" as vet student, I congratulate you on choosing such a noble profession. But you haven't graduated yet and even if/when you do you may STILL not know everything, despite what the professors tell you. Now, what you actually DO with your education will be up to you. As Travis pointed out, despite the fact that he's easily impressed by skillful plumbing achievements....;)~ there are more than a few vets out there already who know little to nothing regarding the care and feeding of a green iguana. MANY of us have had the unfortunate and disheartening experience of having a vet tell us to feed our igs DOG AND CAT food among other grossly erroneous information. Unfortunately, not everyone has a grasp on iguana diet and new owners tend to blindly believe anything that they are told/read, especially if it comes from an "authority" figure such as the veterinarian that they are trusting the life of their pet to.
: As to the reference to testosterone, I have no doubt that you aren't on a "testosterone pumped ego kick" however, you might want to have your estrogen/progesterone levels checked. While you're still in school, you might want to fill an elective by taking a course in human compassion. Not only would it go a looong way in your possible future veterinary practice, but it might also help you come across a bit warmer as a human being. Either that, or organize a lab some day to surgically remove the snot-nosed holier than thou attitude that you just blazed over this board. And since you felt it necessary to bring up personal "rights" I feel that I am within my rights here just letting you know what kind of an impression you've made so far. There was no "reputation" that needed defending when you first posted here, but you certainly have one now. Thank YOU.
I've just finished reading your response to the person who wants to breed her sibling iguanas. I find it unbelievable that you were so polite in response to such a ridiculous notion and such a pompous jerk in response to my own simple request. I don't believe I will be posting on this forum in the future. I've had just about enough of the hostile garbage and the immature attacks. You all seem so concerned over the plight of these all-too-often abused and innocent creatures. In light of the maturity level and the general persona of many persons I've had the displeasure of corresponding with here (save a few brave and courteous souls), I would have to say, if this type of attitude is common among many iguana owners, IT'S NO WONDER SO MANY IGUANAS ARE IN SUCH A DESPERATE PLIGHT!!!Thanks again to all of you who gave me such a warm welcome! Boy I'm glad I came here seeking intelligent advice!!! (I hope the dripping sarcasm rings through.)
