First of all, I'm hardly trying to hide from you or anyone else here. I post on other forums here almost every day, so I really wouldn't consider a post with the initials I use here all the time as anonymous. If the fact that someone takes the time to type in their e-mail address means they're "strong in their convictions" well, there it is.
You don't know me, and if anyone is showing ignorance I would suggest that it's you with the assumptions that you make. I never said I agreed with the reason for, or the means by which Steve was going to euthanize the iguana. I would have to agree with HD and say that I never really saw any concrete reason for euthanizing the animal in the first place, but it was apparent that Steve had his reasons for it. I read all of the posts below, so I would say that I do know the whole story, unless there's some posts that have disappeared. If the cost of $800 was too much for him to justify, I would consider that a very legitimate reason for him if his situation dictates it.
You said there's some people here who have every right to take exception with the fact that he was considering euthanasia. I would have to say the same right is available to anyone who agrees with his right to consider it, even though I never did. I just said that anyone who holds the value of their child's life on an equal plane with an iguana's, needs to have their head examined. I know it might be hard for you to believe, but just because someone doesn't post here every day as a self-proclaimed expert, doesn't mean they don't have considerable experience because YOU don't recognize them. You don't have a clue as to how much money I have or haven't spent on veterinary bills, as if that would mean anything anyway. Lets just say that you don't have the market cornered. Over the last fifteen years I've personally taken in eighteen unwanted iguanas, I just don't feel the need to talk about it here all the time. Maybe someday you'll get to the point where you won't have to run the the vet every time poopsie breaks a nail. Don't worry, until then I'll try to keep my mouthing off and fight picking to a minimum.
