In Reply to: How to get water into your Lucy without her realizing it... posted by Russell Cindi on February 11, 2001 at 17:16:03:
If you regulary mist her veggies right before she eats them, mist her a couple times a day, provide a dish of water in her cage, and give her a bath, this really should be enough water. Igs aren't big drinkers. The only time you need to try extreme means of rehydrating an ig would be if they have a medical condition that requires it (like kidney problems). In that case, there has been much talk on the forum about how to properly give fluids so as not to get water in their lungs AND supplementing diet with some hydrating fruits (like oranges and such) If your ig is relatively healthy though, misting veggies is probably enough.
Your idea is creative, however! (I have used similar methods introducing new food items my ig doesn't want to try OR giving medication-- put it in a hollowed out blueberry!)
