LOL You know me Travis -I explain to death because some people only read what they want. We say a TUMS and they think "oh well then several must be better" ....
Our vet says TUMS are ok -it was the other vet who said they are no good. He recommends neocalglucon which our personal vet says is very costly. Then there is always just plain old calcium from the health food store, which is also costly. As for us, we are still using the TUMS the same as you.
I agree that canned food is ok every once in a while, so long as it does not become a staple food item. Again, some people (and I'm not pointing fingers here) will read that and say "oh, so and so said canned food is fine" and feed nothing else but that. So, much like with anything else, I also explain away and offer alternatives. IMHO, I can make what I call an "iguana safe smootie" in about 10 minutes -I just trust homemade more than food in a can always have, always will, whether it be for human or pet consumption (yeah, I know I'm old fashioned -Kraft Mac and Cheese will never be in my pantry lol)
