Most all baby iguanas in the pet store today ARE captive bred in the farms in central america.
Even if you get a captive bred one here in the states, personality wise it will be the same as the ones bought at the pet store.
if you don't want to adopt and older iguana, then find a nice healthy TAME baby at a good pet reptile store.No matter where you get your iguana,
it is still a wild animal and esp males in breeding season can "turn" on you at any time. If you want better temperament get a cyclura nubila
iguana from a reputable breeder. If they are too expensive or you live somewhere you can't legally get one, then try a different type of reptile/pet.
