Am I describing normal skin to you?

Lucy has some areas with perfect skin. Rows of scales all the same size arranged perfectly beside one another. Then you'll come to an area where the scales are much smaller and not arranged in any particular order at all. Are these scars or is this a normal description of what an iguana's skin looks like?
