As long as they have enough heat from basking bulbs, they don't neat any "under the belly" type heat. After all, there is no such thing in the jungle where they come from-- only the sun from above!
: : Ps Why do you want a heat pad for it ???
: I was told that iguanas have a hindgut which needs the proper heat in order to digest their food. Hot rocks can cause burns, but placing a human heating pad underneath them on the lowest setting provides them the extra warmth they need in order to digest their nutrients properly.
: Is this bad information I've received?
: We have a heating pad set up for Habib, and he (she's really a she, but we thought he was a he for over two years so "he" has kinda stuck with her) really loves to lounge around on it. Let me know if I've been told bad info.
: Thanks,
: Diana
