In Reply to: Is that 12 inches STL? If so, that seems awfully small for a 2 yr old..... posted by JNelson on February 06, 2001 at 20:59:51:
: Mine is just over 2 and 28 inches STL (and he's smaller than most at his age!!!) What kind of enclosure is yours in? Maybe he needs more room to grow? How far from the UV Lamp is his basking shelf? That could be another factor. Well, keep posting questions. Hopefully we can help you out. Good luck! J
Hi :)
His enclosure when he was a baby was a 55 gallon Reptarium from Oceanic Systems, and his heat lamp is a regular light bulb 100 watts that has been treated to give off UV rays. I can't remember the company. He is very close to the heat lamp (about 6 inches from his back arch) and feels very warm to the touch. (when he lets me touch him) What does STL mean? He is 12 inches from the tip of his snout the his ventricle. Total length maybe...3 1/2 feet ...hell, lemme measure him ...ok he is 4 feet long from snout to tip of tail. I feed him watercress and miscellaneous veggies as they appear at the grocery store. He is currently in a very large parrot cage.
