: Well Double D is doing better but want to get your ideas if there anything diffrent I should be doing. He is still a little excited to get out of his cage, some days gives a few tail lashes and hisses. We still get him out weither he wants it or not as I dont want him to grow into a 4 or 5 ft attitude problem LOL (Ive got kids that will all ready do that in a few years LOL). So once he is out he is getting better about the constant digging into your hand,we have cut his nails WICH HELP LOTS, he still rests his toes around you but its not the grip he use to. He still wiggles and squirms at times, im sure he wants down to roam but we arent iggy proof so hes stuck being held till this weekend when we get a harness for him (any suggestions on what is the best? If there even is a variety). We talk to him anytime we are in the room, when I get him out I baby talk to him (okay im a mom cut me some slack im use to baby talking things LOL). He seems much clamer with me than with my husband? Possible because maybe it was a male who abused him, Not sure, or maybe the fact im the FOOD LADY. WE have him on a "routine" where hes UVB light gets turned on at 6:30 am to 7am depending on who hits it on me or hubby. He then gets fed at 9 to 9:30 am. I usually give him 30 to 40 mins to eat then out of cage he comes, ive been TRYING to get some good photos but the digital I have isnt the best so hes usually subjected to a few pics each morning, dosent seem to mind them. When my big dog comes around he goes BESERK, tail lashes, hisses, tries to climb anywhere away he can. I have taken to petting him anytime I go into his cage, calling his name all the time trying to get him use to it. Let him set on my shoulder when I walk around in the morning, of course with always one hand holding him firmly. He has chewed on my hair twice, is that something to worry about??, He then gets back in his cage about 30 to 40 mins after that, then about hour to hour and half the kids come home and go back to talk to him, he is peridiocly checked on talked to and petted through the rest of the day, then evenings my husband gets home then climbs to the top of his cage sticks his snout out the top for some head pets from my hubby. When husband then gets him out he is more fistey and fights him more than he does if I am holding him. He is then given more fresh water, and a smaller amount of fresh food, he gets his bath last night and spritzed a couple of times a day. Any other advice or tips on socializng him, he also loves to have his head petted and is fine lettign teh kids pet his head as long as they dont move or jump around that to kind of freaks him out, but hes getting a little better.
