Tonight my husband begins building the new cage for the blackened skinned ig we are taking this weekend.
He is a carpenter & decided he wanted to use a new "wood" called fiberboard, something they are making counter tops out of now because it is durable, doesnt swell, doesnt soak in water & is not "press board".
We are going to coat the inside with minwax sealant with a satin finish so it should be easier to clean. The doors on the front will be plexi with 2 lathches to keep it closed. The top will be garden wire so we can safely put the lights up there. The back will have about 6 round vent holes. There will be 3 platforms for her to hang out on & the ramps will have some berber carpet to help her with traction.
The OUTSIDE of the enclosure will be painted. I will let it stand for 24 hrs before I get her to make sure it doesnt have fumes.
Thank you to Steven, JNelson, Travis & all the others who've given such great ideas over the past few days.
I will take photos when its done! :)
