We're currently putting together a presentation for our regional PetCompany office in the hope of beginning some sort of "professional" relationship with them. I'd love to know more about location/conditions/more horror stories related to your local PetCompany.
This goes for everyone else as well. I know we've mentioned it before so this should serve as a reminder.
As far as the mites, I believe that I was the one who suggested the vegetable oil. It works for surface mites but there is still a concern for any eggs that were left behind under the skin. Travis mentioned Rid. I've also heard that Listerene works - on snakes at least. Not sure what effect it could have on an ig. And, yes, Betadine baths should follow for a few days afterwards to make sure that mite bites don't get infected. Unfortunately, it does absolutely no good if one ig is taken out back to be "de-mited" only to be returned to an infested cage.
