We've switched everyone here over to carpet. Home Depot carries a fairly good, low pile, cheap indoor/outdoor that doesn't have any kind of rubber backing on it. Cut two pieces to the size of your enclosure. When it's time to change it just rotate it out with the clean piece.
Just be careful in selection as some carpets can unravel into minute fibers and get wrapped around toes, etc thereby cutting off circulation and causing a whole different set of problems...
