I'm just wondering where you adopted Lucy from, guys. Only curious because we were working with someone from Norwood, Ma who had a Lucy who was a free-roamer. Where in Maine are you and who are you taking her to ? We may be able to point you to a closer vet depending....And the rubbermaid transport that Tmom mentioned works great for us, BTW. Mel is now 4' and she's nice and comfy in there. Heat the pad up good before you go, throw a sheet or towel over it and Lucy on top, put the cover on and go. Once you get to the vet, see if they can find an outlet for you for the trip home.
Let us know where you are when you have a moment. Like I said, we may be able to recommend acloser vet for you.
