I dont see how anyone can do this, oh if I knew the people who had double d first id got stuff them into a 10 gallon tank and treat them teh way they did him for a day and they did it to him for approx 2 years.
Okay sorry here is what Double D's vet said about the condition he was in when they first saw him,
He had a skin diseases so severe they didnt know if he would make it or not, amonia burns, there was another burn type head but forgot to write it down I was so mad, hes tail was broken and hanging off, the spikes on top of his head the ones that werent all ready gone were dead and would fall at the mere touch of him. He was given NO UVB lighting, NO fresh food, was stuck in a 10 gallon tank that was not cleaned at all, if any maybe twice. His skin problems have cleared up nicely, said his tail had to be amputated (the regrowth since the first incident) as it grew in quite cruked and was a possiblity to give him problems. He does have a few broken toes, along with some deformed nails do to his lack of nutriton. I grilled this vet about there practice, he inturn grilled me about how I was caring for him, his encloser, quized me on what i was feeding, how he was being handled, and stated I needed to get a stool sample checked for parasites as the petstore didnt do that. Said his malnutriotion issues were corrected during the year they had him and his opinion was we would have a great number of years left with him, he wasnt able to give us an age, said do to his malnutrioton and the fact that is not easy at all to age a reptile. He has many iguana's he sees, and if he dosent know the problem or has something he dosent understand he has several diffrent consultants in other parts of the state he can call or refer us to. He also cares for rabbits, guniea pigs, and dogs. He is going to be about 25 mins away from us when we move, i think I will be changing all my animals to his care soon. I just dont see how anyone can do this to an animal at all, ugh those people tick me off. The vet was quite impressed with everything I knew (thanks to all the help) and was quite sure he would have a good home with us, and said how glad he was to see him going to someone who truly cared about him.
