Hi jeff,

Yes the rhinos are generally more aggressive and high strung
(fearful) than the Nubila species. Nubila are far more tame than any of
the iguana species, no comparision to green iguanas on this particular
aspect. I have had a green iguana for 4.5 years and while
she is very confident now it took a lot more work than my Grand Cayman ground
iguana, who was quite tame right from the start(but she was the tamest
of the clutch I chose her from). Also my green iguana
even now continues to be scared of dogs whereas my cyclura nubila is
quite fearless even though she is still quite young and small.

Here is a quote from David Blair that has
bred these guys for many years:

"…Even though many rhinoceros iguanas [cyclura cornuta]
can eventually become quite tame, they are apparently
by nature more aggressive than Cuban and Cayman rock
iguanas [cyclura nubila] which are almost always comparatively
docile in captivity…." Iguanas of the West Indies, by David Blair
