I saw Desert Iguanas at the reptile show in Columbus the other day, and fell in love with the cuties! I didn't purchase any, because I believe in research before purchase, and my friend told me she sees them there every month. So, if anyone has any experience with them please respond! I haven't found much on the 'net about them.
Are the majority captive-bred or wild-caught? Are they threatened or endangered in their home range or plentiful? Does it make a difference in temperment?
What is their temperment like? They seemed really sweet and laid back...
How big do they get? Will I be able to keep one or two in a 20 or 30 long? Or will I need a huge cage?
How should I decorate the cage? What sort of heat range? How big a water plan? Do they like to climb or are the mainly terrestrial?
What do they eat? Are the vegetarians? Omnivores? Carnivores?
I think that's all for now, and all help is greatly appreciated!
