Welcome Jason,
Definitely a good call on removing the cat food. Fortunately I haven't experienced it yet with any of our igs but I've heard that kidney and liver damage can be extremely destructive and extremely slow. Better to eliminate the problem early on...
As far as sad stories on iguana rescues, you're in excellent company here. Many of us have been in the same situation as well. I'm currently in the middle of constructing no longer one but two new enclosures now. Our largest two have outgrown their current tanks. I've been working on one enclosure for the last few months , off and on, but the second one snuck up on me. Seems as though someone literally doubled her weight and grew 5 inches when I wasn't looking between last October and now.....LOL...
Lot of good people here ...Feel free to pose any questions... I'm sure someone will be able to field it around here...;)
