In Reply to: Chuck went on a starvation diet while I was out of town :-( posted by Mark on January 27, 2001 at 21:39:46:

It sounds like he was definitely upset with you for leaving-- too stressed to eat much! When you came back, he knew everything was back to normal so he could chow down. My last iguana would poop on new caretakers he would be so freaked out! And he never pooped on me so it was strange. (I think he was anally fixated! When we moved, he wouldn't poop for a week. And when I was late turning on his lights or bringing food, he would poop!)

: Anyone ever heard of this? Chuck has been a ferocious eater since the day I took him home. He will always eat at least two large plates full of food each day. Well, I went out of town for a week, and my roommate took care of him. I found out today when I got back that Chuck hadn't been eating more than half a plate of food a day since I left. BUT, as soon as I got back, I fixed up a big ol plate of food, and he ate it all no prob! Do you think he just missed me? Maybe it was something with the way he was being fed, or the time of day. I dont know... He is very partial to me though. Really doesnt like to have anyone else play with him or pick him up. Maybe its all in my head, I dont know. :-)

: Mark
